The Rochester Renaissance Square Project is Not a Done Deal
Many people think the Rochester Renaaissance Square Project is
a pretty strange idea but they think there is nothing they can
do about it now because it is a "done deal." Despite
the slick public relations, planning is just getting started. The RGRTA and
our public officials have been saying that they have nearly all
of the money, but in actuality they only have promises of money.
There are legal requirements including environmental studies that
must be undertaken. Public officials have to pass legislation authorizing
the funding. Permits have to be issued. Contracts must be approved.
Property has to be acquired. There are a lot of hurdles that must
be passed, and we can be there at every step to ensure that the
project is what the public wants.
The RGRTA has
a lot of work to do on this project, and we are getting involved.
